POLYDECK Boardwalk Planks
Polydeck Boardwalk planks have been designed to replace traditional timber planks which can be slippery when wet and are subject to rotting and failure at fixing holes. They are made from a non-rotting GRP which is guaranteed to last at least 30 years. The planks come with a distinctive timber deck effect which looks like real wood, except is has an aggregated surface to provide a safe non slip surface to walk on.
The Boardwalk planks are available in two standard thicknesses:
– 25mm thick planks which will span 610mm centres
– 50mm thick planks which will span 1220mm centres
Available in three or four standard lenghts: 2850mm, 2440mm, 2000mm and 1500mm x 200mm wide, the planks are structural and achieve a loading of 5kN per Square metre with a less than 1/200 deflection at appropriate span centres.
The planks come in three standard colours: Pale Birch (beige), Aged Oak (light grey) and Chestnut Brown (dark brown).

Boardwalk planks are designed to be fixed to existing timber or steel support beams stainless steel screws. When fixing to steel, planks can be fitted with either self-drill screws or M8 stainless steel machine screws and bolts. The end of each plank can be cut on site using a small hand-held angle grinder with a diamond-tipped blade. The cut ends do not need to be resealed but can be painted if visible.
