At Polydeck, we regularly help clients by providing them with the ultimate range of non-slip solutions, and recently we assisted Kesteven Council with a complete bridge refurbishment project.

So, in this case study, we look back at how exactly we were able to help Kesteven Council and provide details on how we can also help you!

Why did Kesteven Council contact Polydeck?

Kesteven Council contacted Polydeck, an anti- slip flooring specialist, for a solution to replacing a rotting timber bridge in North Hykeham.

As the bridge was for pedestrian use, Kesteven Council expressed the importance of a quick installation and Polydeck had just the solution.

Polydeck’s non-slip solution

Polydeck’s glass reinforced polyester (GRP) bridges are produced in kit forms for easy, quick installation. The GRP bridge kits can be supplied with the base, rails and posts separately. They are light– weight so they can be carried by hand to tricky destinations, and then simply bolted together.

This existing timber bridge was removed, foundations dug, and the replacement bridge installed in one day.

Not only were Kesteven Council pleased with the speed of installation and the look of the final bridge, they were delighted with the fact that the GRP bridges are guaranteed for 30 years and require no maintenance.

Polydeck’s GRP bridges won’t rot, are anti- slip and can be supplied in a timber effect design. The full list of advantages of Polydeck’s GRP Bridges are:

  • No rot
  • Timber effect design
  • Anti– slip
  • Light– weight
  • Quick & easy to install
  • 30+ years life expectancy
  • Includes recycled materials
